International Association for Educational Work Exchange Programmes

In a world increasingly defined as an inter-dependent global community, the need of students and young people to expand their understanding of other cultures and societies is greater than ever. Through work exchange programmes, participants experience the day-to-day working life and culture of their host country from an insiders point of view.

The International Association for Educational Work Exchange Programmes (IAEWEP) is an international association of the ISTC whose members specialise in arranging work abroad programmes for students and young people.

More than 60,000 students and young people participate annually in IAEWEP member-sponsored work abroad programmes.

IAEWEP members work with government authorities to arrange special work permits, and with students to help find work placements, to organise travel arrangements and accommodation, and to provide in-country orientations and ongoing assistance throughout the work experience programme.
